The First Post

So here we are...the new blog!

I am pretty much all moved into my "apartment" here at LSMSA and almost $300 later all settled in (yikes...). Started my training today which consisted of learning mostly front desk work and my boss bringing me a big gulp sized daiquiri. Apparently thats how we roll here in Louisiana :). The kids arrive back from their extended weekend tomorrow and thats when I start shadowing Cori and really learning what goes on and what I do. I haven't even touched my office yet. My computer is still down at IT getting "Amyfied", but I should make it a welcoming space since we have to have at least 10 hours of office hours a week...I suspect I will be in there much more then that Cori says most SLA's are.

Cori and I bought celebratory computer games (SIMS 3) but it doesn't run on my computer (so upsetting you don't even know) of course I didn't check that out before I bought the game and now I can't return it, but I am hoping I can upgrade my computer to run the game. Cori's doesn't work either...so now we are mourning together (lame).

I am an hour closer to Mike now so we can actually talk after his 18 hour days.

Loving the King sized bed so far...I could get used to this.

No news of the cafeteria yet. It's not open when the students aren't here but fortunately my "welcome basket" was full of toilet paper, bottled water, Hershey's chocolate and Ramen...clearly I am covered.
