So this is going to be my first weekend here and so far its Friday and its been crazy. Since last weekend we have had ongoing problems with our A/C. We recently got the news that the chiller was broken and had to be taken apart and completely revamped. So like any other public school this means that its going to take forever, cost more money then we have and just in general be a big pain. Meanwhile we have 200 teenager girls suffering heat stroke because its Louisiana and its hot.
So of course tonight we hosted the schools "Open Min Night" and had not only all our girls inside out lobby but at least half the boys dorm as well. Thats a lot of body heat in one tiny space...gross.
Tomorrow is the Winter Formal dance, which just seems ridiculous. I will be attending in my bathing suit. So of course that means that all the procedures are different for this weekend. Everyone has to have special permission to ride in cars and drive people in cars and leave campus at certain hours with certain people and just...ugh.
In other news my office is FINALLY coming together and I might have some furniture in it tomorrow (one of the other SLA's just told me to steal one of the couches from the big lounge so thats what I'm gonna do).
On the weekends curfew is extended so we don't do room checks until Midnight. I have a problem with this because I am tiiired. Saturday mornings I have to open the building at 7 so that doesn't give me a lot of time to sleep AND tomorrow one of the girls has a swim meet so I have to open the building extra early for her...
This entry was incredibly disjointed...I'm tired. I'm sure I'll be updating tomorrow morning sitting at the desk...
